WPP appoints Andrew Scott as Chief Operating Officer, WPP Europe

WPP today announces the appointment of Andrew Scott to the newly created role of Chief Operating Officer, WPP Europe. In this new role, Andrew will work closely with our businesses in the UK and Continental Europe, including Turkey and Russia.

“This region represents 39% of the Group’s revenues and is a very important contributor to our overall global performance,” said WPP CEO, Sir Martin Sorrell. “We have 46,000 people, working in over 700 offices in 33 countries, and I believe we have an opportunity to focus our investment in talent, systems and resources more effectively. I have asked Andrew to work with the leadership in our operating brands to accelerate growth, enhance collaboration and drive the operating performance of our business in the region.”

Andrew will continue to lead the Group’s M&A activities but will hand over responsibility for WPP’s Specialist Communications division. He will continue to report to WPP CEO, Sir Martin Sorrell, in the new role.

Andrew has been an executive at WPP for more than 14 years. Prior to WPP, he worked for the management consulting firm L.E.K. Andrew is an engineering graduate with an MBA from INSEAD.
