WPP invites its global workforce to practise inclusion as a skill

6 Sep 2023

WPP is expanding its inclusive leadership training to its 100,000+ employees across the world.

This follows a successful, month-long pilot in 2021 with 1,000 managers across four countries (US, UK, India, China) and five areas of WPP (GroupM, Ogilvy, Superunion, VMLY&R, WPP HQ), giving participants a roadmap for how to become more inclusive leaders.

“We believe inclusion is a skill that requires knowledge, practice and action. When our people feel secure and confident to share their ideas, it has a direct impact on creativity and the power of collaboration – which is our competitive advantage. We also know it’s a skill our people want. When we look at what drives employee engagement across WPP, it’s a sense of belonging and having opportunities to grow in their career.” – Jennifer Remling, Chief People Officer, WPP.

Developed in partnership with MindGym, the Inclusion as a Skill training aims to drive behaviour change through a science-based approach, equipping participants with practical tools to create an inclusive culture where everyone feels supported and encouraged to grow and reach their creative potential.

"Inclusion is a universal strength we’re all able to harness. No matter the level of leadership, or where someone is based, everyone can develop inclusion as a skill. This program is an important step in our journey toward an diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace where all feel they belong and are able to thrive.” – LJ Louis, Chief Talent and Inclusion Officer, WPP

The 12-week learning experience is designed to establish a foundation for inclusive habits to become everyday occurrences. It will be used as a consistent framework for how people managers engage their teams using a globally relevant and easily applicable approach across WPP.

Registrations are now open with sessions currently scheduled until March 2024. If you work at WPP you can find out more and sign up here.
