Wunderman Thompson: Fund Femme

Helping to level the playing field for women and non-binary entrepreneurs

Wunderman Thompson has launched Fund Femme – a global platform to celebrate and support businesses owned by women and non-binary people.

Despite making up 50% of the population and having 80% of spending power, women represent only 33% of business owners. The pandemic has dealt a massive blow to femme-owned businesses, with women-founded startups receiving 27% less funding.

Similarly, women were a third more likely to work at or own a company in a sector that was shut due to COVID-19 regulations. This resulted in the investment gap widening, and small-to-medium sized women and non-binary owned businesses becoming even more vulnerable.

Fund Femme aims to drive growth and inspire change by making it easier to discover and shop from businesses owned by women and non-binary people. It is designed to tip the scale and put balance back into the global economy. Fund femme aims to support the cause by opening the options of where to spend, how to spend and who with.

A core part of the platform’s mission is to celebrate and promote women and non-binary founders, tell their stories and establish support networks for business owners via an editorial hub and designated Instagram.

Women and non-binary business owners from all over the world are invited to sign up. Businesses joining can be of any size; all that is asked is that entrepreneurs share Fund Femme’s principles founded in equality, ethics, honesty, passion and consideration.
