As part of its ongoing commitment to ensure we foster an inclusive approach to creativity, WPP has become a founding member of the Unstereotype Alliance’s Mexico and India chapters.

Convened by UN Women, the United Nations entity for gender equality, the Unstereotype Alliance is a thought and action platform that seeks to eradicate harmful stereotypes from advertising and media to help create a more equal world.

The launch of the India and Mexico chapters is part of the Alliance’s ambitious local expansion strategy to help use advertising as a force for good to drive positive change all over the world.

WPP has been a global member of the Unstereotype Alliance since its launch in 2017 and is already a member of existing national chapters in the UK, Turkey, Brazil.

“As an industry we have a responsibility to ensure the work we do is inclusive and diverse so that it accurately represents the societies we serve,” said Polo Garza, Mexico Country Manager, WPP, “I’m looking forward to coming together with our peers, clients and partners on this important initiative and help further gender equality in Mexico.”

Both the India and Mexico country chapters will focus on broadening advertising’s representation of women and girls in non-traditional roles in the home and in the workplace.

“WPP is delighted to be a founding member of the Unstereotype Alliance's India chapter. We look forward to working with the Alliance to bring about positive change to the issue of gender equality through the creative use of our skills and the passion of our people in this area,” said CVL Srinivas, India Country Manager, WPP.
