POSSIBLE: The Lonely Whale Foundation #StopSucking

Asking individuals, organisations, and brands to pledge their commitment to A Strawless Ocean

POSSIBLE and the Lonely Whale Foundation’s #StopSucking draws attention to the fact that 500 million plastic straws are used every day in the US. Many of those plastic straws end up in oceans, polluting the water and harming sea life. This campaign is a call for action to the fact that if we don’t act now, by 2050, plastics will outweigh fish.

Bringing together an intentionally broad group of celebrities, admitting how they suck (plastic straws), Adrian Grenier (who is the founder of the Lonely Whale Foundation), Van Jones, Kendrick Sampson, Amy Smart, Emmanuelle Chriqui and Lucy Sumner all featured in the promo video for launch.

Generating 50,000 #StopSucking pledges, the campaign reached 7.3 million people across social media and 29 million plastic straws were kept out of the waste stream.
