Returning to the office safely

Our priority is to take all necessary precautions for the safety of our people and our communities.

We are taking a local market-led approach to office reopenings, reflecting local circumstances, regulations and legislation, and prioritising the safety and wellbeing of our people.

Our general office safety measures are outlined below. It is important that if you are working from the office that you follow the guidance carefully and check with your manager or People team to see if there are local differences where you work.

What we are doing to keep offices safe

Safety measures are coordinated with local leadership and facilities managers to ensure a safe working environment.

FAQs

Please speak to your People/HR team on any issues not covered here.

Is my office open?

Governments are changing restrictions based on the local COVID-19 situation and therefore the timings of office re-openings will vary and may open and close several times. Your local leadership will communicate any changes in your office status with you in advance.

Is there flexibility to work partly from the office and partly from home?

Given the variety of agencies, roles, locations and cultures within our company, flexible hybrid working including the balance between office and remote working, is being led by our agency networks and you should discuss this with your manager.

If I don’t feel comfortable travelling to a client office, what should I do?

Please speak with your manager and/or client lead about any concerns you may have.

What happens if there is a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the office?

If through contact tracing we are aware you have come into contact with someone who has COVID-19 or symptoms of COVID-19, we will notify you.

What should I do if I’m in the office and start to feel sick?

Go home and inform your manager and local People team and follow local Government, State or Health Authority guidance.

Will anyone be monitoring the office to ensure people are following the guidelines?

We have a responsibility both individually and collectively to ensure guidelines are followed. Your leadership teams and facilities managers have put in place measures for a safe working environment – if you see behaviour that is not compliant, please speak with your local People team or manager where appropriate.

Will I need to be vaccinated before going back to the office?

WPP strongly encourages the vaccination of employees worldwide. In most countries at this time, it is not a requirement to confirm vaccine status or be vaccinated to work from our offices.

Exceptions include where legislation, or clients, require vaccination of employees in office workplaces.

In the US, all employees, freelancers and visitors to our offices are required to be fully vaccinated and prove their vaccination status.
