The race to 2030

Ever since the Paris Agreement of 2015, governments and businesses alike have recognised that to keep global temperatures from rising 1.5ºC above pre-industrial levels we all have to halve global emissions by 2030 and reach a balance of net zero by 2050.

As 2030 comes closer, we are taking action to play our part in addressing this by building a roadmap to achieve net zero.

We have identified the full scope of emissions we can measure, and we will set targets to significantly reduce these as far as we can and as quickly as possible. Our targets will be submitted to the Science Based Target initiative for validation.

Collaboration with our clients, partners and suppliers will be crucial to our success in meeting our targets, and we're excited at the potential we have to work together and innovate to transform both our business and our industry.

Of our top 50 clients, two-thirds have committed to setting targets through the Science-Based Targets initiative. We want to help them succeed in achieving their goals.

We’re being transparent about our emissions so we can work together with our industry, suppliers and clients to reduce them. Here are the first actions we will take.

 

Definitions:

The Science-Based Targets initiative is a partnership between CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, World Resources Institute and the World Wide Fund for Nature. It defines emissions reductions and net zero targets in line with climate science and provides companies with independent assessment and validation of targets.
