Initiated by Millward Brown, the BrandZ Top
100 Most Valuable Global Brands survey has
become something of an annual event. In
2009, BrandZ was taken to a new level with
an innovative iPhone application. As a result,
the survey reached a wider international
audience, achieved greater visibility, and
gained a substantial competitive advantage.
For the first time ever, research data was made available on the iPhone - downloadable from the iTunes store. The BrandZ application facilitated the sharing of survey data between colleagues and friends, piquing the interest of marketers, analysts and other decision makers.
Within weeks of its launch, the BrandZ study ranked among the top 10 business apps on iTunes. The link with the iPhone brand also inferred that the world's most authoritative brand study was now also the most sophisticated. In short, the application helped transform a static, printed report into an interactive, show-yourfriends, must-have phenomenon.
