Burson-Marsteller analyses social media influence in Asia Pacific

B-M Asia Pacific's new infographic depicts variations in social media use throughout the region. Unlike other parts of the world, where Facebook, YouTube and Twitter dominate the social media landscape, in Asia Pacific, each market has its own usage trends, and sometimes even home-grown social networks. The infographic shows the preferred social networks in the region, ranging from Facebook to Wretch, a network based in Taiwan. It also looks at each Asia Pacific country's preferred social media channels based on monthly page views.

Ogilvy PR China finds that microblogs can escalate crises and scandals

With more than 250 million microbloggers in China (a 297% increase from 2010), a white paper, Crisis Management in the Microblog Era, by Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide/China and CIC found that the pervasive use of microblogs has created a scenario where major public crises and scandals erupt with increasing frequency and speed.
