Grey Group appoints Michael Houston as Worldwide CEO
Marking the anniversary of its founding 100 years ago, Grey Group has announced the appointment of its next generation of leadership with the promotion of Michael Houston to Worldwide Chief Executive Officer. James R Heekin, who has led the company as Chairman and CEO since 2007, will remain Executive Chairman of Grey Group. Speaking about his appointment, Houston said: “I’m humbled to work among such brilliant creative minds and honored to become CEO of this great agency brand.”

Revlon selects Grey and MediaCom
Global beauty company Revlon has selected Grey as its global creative agency of record and MediaCom as its global media agency of record. Mr Fabian Garcia, President & CEO of Revlon, said: “The consolidation and streamlining of our creative and media agency partnerships enables us to achieve greater efficiencies, speed to market and better support the strategic communications goals and long-term growth strategies for our brands globally.”

2017 Atticus Awards winners announced
The winners of the coveted Atticus Awards, which celebrate published original thinking from WPP professionals around the world, have been revealed for 2017. This year, two authors shared the Grand Prix: Alexander Wheatley of Lightspeed for his paper Head or Heart – The Conflicts of Political Polling; and Dave Knox of Rockfish for his book Predicting the Turn: The High Stakes Game of Business Between Startups and Blue Chips.

WPP invests in VR/AR company Within Unlimited
The Group has made a strategic investment in virtual reality/augmented reality entertainment and technology company Within Unlimited. The US-based firm is led by renowned film-maker and music video director Chris Milk and technologist Aaron Koblin. Partners and content collaborators include Apple, The New York Times, NBC Universal, Vice, 21st Century Fox and Alphabet Inc.

WPP agrees to acquire award-winning thjnk AG
Leading Germany-based independent creative agency group, thjnk AG, is set to join WPP. Founded in 2012 in Hamburg, with offices in Berlin, Dusseldorf, Munich, Zurich and New York, thjnk is a multi-award-winning agency group specialising in advertising, design and corporate publishing.

French full-service agency Sensio joins Grey
Global marketing communications agency Grey has acquired a majority stake in Extrême-Sensio in France. Sensio is a full-service digital agency that offers services including consulting, design, technology and customer acquisition.

Wunderman launches new AI services division
In collaboration with Microsoft, Wunderman has launched Wunderman AI Services, which will provide marketers with artificial intelligence solutions. This division represents the next evolution of enhancing customer engagements while creating new opportunities for clients in customer care, CRM and acquisition.
