Maxus UK wins Weber media buying and planning account

LONDON — Weber, the world’s premier manufacturer of charcoal, gas and electric grills, grilling accessories and award-winning cookbooks has appointed Maxus UK to handle its media buying and planning activity across the UK. Maxus will begin work with Weber immediately in time to launch its spring/summer range. The account is worth around £3 million in billings.

Maxus won the Weber account after a three-way pitch. It is the first time Weber has appointed a dedicated media agency to handle UK activity.

Chris Trewhitt, country marketing manager, at Weber, said: “After the pitch process we felt that Maxus really understood Weber as a business and also where the brand wants to be in the future. We have an exciting new spring/summer range for 2016 and look forward to working with Maxus to showcase our full product line up.”

Weber was founded in 1952 and is the number one brand for barbecues in the UK.
