Cohn & Wolfe appoints Rebecca Grant as UK Managing Director
23 February, 2016
Agency responds to strong growth by laying foundations for ongoing success
— Cohn & Wolfe, a global communications agency, today announced the appointment of Rebecca Grant, previously Managing Director, UK Consumer Marketing, as Managing Director, UK, effective immediately. Grant’s promotion follows a sustained period of growth at Cohn & Wolfe, with the UK business having more than doubled in size since 2011.
A new Managing Director of Cohn & Wolfe UK Consumer Marketing has already been appointed and will join the agency in March. Grant, who joined Cohn & Wolfe in 2011, will retain her role as Head of Cohn & Wolfe Consumer Marketing EMEA, and will continue to report into Scott Wilson, Chief Executive Officer, UK and Managing Director, EMEA.
In 2015, Cohn & Wolfe UK had its fifth consecutive year of double-digit growth. The year also saw strong performance across the agency’s consumer marketing, corporate and public affairs, healthcare communications and digital and content marketing businesses.
“Our UK Consumer Marketing business has been on fire, with revenue tripling over the last four years. They have won a host of new globally-recognised brands and received industry award recognition both as a team and for the quality of their work,” says Wilson. “During this period, Rebecca has been at the forefront of driving our wider agency transformation, and much of our success has been founded on a commitment to placing collaboration, creativity and digital at the heart of everything we do. Rebecca’s appointment is richly deserved and I look forward to working closely with her as Cohn & Wolfe continues its success in the coming years.”
“Cohn & Wolfe’s reputation in the UK is growing exponentially and I am delighted to have played my part in the agency’s wider success,” says Grant. “What is particularly gratifying is the growing number of clients – from consumer healthcare to food and drink to consumer technology to financial services – who have bought into our philosophy and are increasingly looking to Cohn & Wolfe to be a true custodian of their brands, from promotion to protection.”
Prior to joining Cohn & Wolfe in 2011, Grant worked at Weber Shandwick and the Red Consultancy. Since her arrival, the Cohn & Wolfe Consumer Marketing team has picked up a host of honours including a 2015 WPP WPPed Cream Award. The honour, awarded to the best PR campaign delivered by any WPP agency globally, went to Cohn & Wolfe London for its work on Microsoft’s Mission 31 campaign. As well as being Managing Director of Cohn & Wolfe UK, Grant will continue to serve a number of important Cohn & Wolfe clients including Pfizer, Twinings, Danone and Treasury Wine Estates.
In 2015 and 2014, Cohn & Wolfe UK was shortlisted by The Holmes Report as EMEA Consumer Consultancy of the Year. Cohn & Wolfe was the only networked agency in EMEA to have been shortlisted over this period. The consumer team was also a finalist for the PRCA’s 2015 Specialist Agency of the Year and PR Moment’s Agency of the Year in 2015.
