New General Manager Set to Grow Agency’s CRM Expertise
— Martin Conneen, regional president of Wunderman Asia-Pacific, has named CRM expert Jason John as head of the network’s offices in Malaysia. As general manager, John will oversee both Wunderman and AGENDA Kuala Lumpur. His focus will be on scaling up the offices and boosting their direct marketing and data capabilities, while championing creativity and inventive thinking.
“The convergence of data, technology and creativity is what fuels compelling, digitally-led CRM ideas that drive accountable business results for our clients. That’s the heart of what we do at Wunderman,” said John. “The constant emergence of new technology not only affords us a more engaging, immediate and measurable manner to engage with consumers, but also the ability to be more insightful in what we do as we constantly refine and optimise our CRM efforts. It’s never been a more exciting yet demanding time for marketers and consultants."
John brings with him 20 years of integrated brand communications, digital marketing and customer relationship management experience. He has worked with a wide array of multinational and local clients including Volvo, Nokia, Nestle, IBM, Hewlett-Packard, L’Oreal, Microsoft, Cadbury, Mazda, Diageo, BMW and Sime Darby.
Succeeding Subramaniam V., John is based in Kuala Lumpur and reports to Nimesh Desai, managing director, Wunderman Southeast Asia.
Desai said, “Subramaniam set the foundations for a strong team in Malaysia, and big thanks goes out to him for his leadership over the past two years. We now welcome Jason on board to expand our offerings in the region. He’s spent the last decade immersed in the world of CRM and is well placed to introduce these solutions to our clients.”
John was formerly the head of Leo Burnett/Arc CRM Malaysia, CRM head at Publicis Dialog, and the joint-business lead for Ogilvy Interactive Malaysia. He has also served as a council member of the Direct Marketing Association of Malaysia (DMAM) during his tenure with Arc Malaysia, promoting the role and principles of direct marketing.
