JWT wins 17 accolades including Grand Prix and 4 Gold at African Cristals

Impressive tally gave JWT 2nd place in Network of the Year

CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA — JWT were awarded a total of 17 accolades at the African Cristals on Saturday including a Grand Prix, 4 Gold, 4 Silver and 5 Bronze medals, a Special award, 3rd place as Agency of the Year won by JWT Cairo, and 2nd place as Network of the Year won by the group, on campaigns across 5 categories, from 4 teams and for a wide range of clients.

JWT Cairo’s "Swimming Mangoes" for Nestlé’s Dolceca brand picked up the Grand Prix and 3 further gold medals in Film, as well as a Special award. The team’s winning streak continued with a Gold and 2 Silver in the Film and Integrated categories awarded to "Magdy" for Vodafone Egypt; a Silver and Bronze in Film awarded to “Terrible Accident” for OSN and a Bronze in Film awarded to “Chiclets Revamp” for Mondelez.

The group’s teams in East Africa added impressively to the tally with JWT Kenya landing a Silver in Film for their “Twaweza” campaign - a citizen centred initiative that means we can make it happen in Swahili; Scanad Kenya taking a Bronze in Film with “MShwari” for Safari.com; and Scanad Uganda bagging a Bronze in Press with their “Raised to 8” campaign for MOA Exhaust and a Bronze in Outdoor with the “Sun Dialing” campaign for Warid Telecom.

Saturday’s success comes hot on the heels of JWT Cairo’s World’s Smartest Campaign announcement from WARC and the team’s #3 ranking in the World amongst creative agencies by WARC. Recently the JWT group in Africa also won a prestigious Bronze Clio in September for Durban based The Hardy Boys’ “Vote NSPCA” campaign, and Scanad Uganda’s Silver and Bronze campaign wins at the Loeries.
