Durban team’s creativity and innovation honoured with bronze medal at prestigious international awards show
DURBAN, SOUTH AFRICA
— Durban based, The Hardy Boys, one of the leading independent brand building and activation agencies in South Africa, has been recognized by the international community for its innovation and creative excellence with a Bronze Medal at the 55th annual Clio Awards, held in New York, for the “Vote NSPCA” campaign. The prestigious Clio Awards were established in 1959 and honour groundbreaking work and talent that pushes the boundaries of creativity.
The “Vote NSPCA” campaign, utilized a guerilla style tactic, which consisted of 4 executions leveraging the street pole as a medium. Driven by consumer insight that there’s a real desire for change, the "Vote NSPCA
" campaign was strategically conceived to take place while the South African elections were in full swing. Campaign posters were designed to be tacked underneath existing election posters featuring politicians. The effect was to appear as if the politician was now holding a pet and calling on the public to support an organization of real change.
Commenting on the win, Dale Tomlinson, CEO/Founder of The Hardy Boys said, “We would like to thank the NSPCA for the opportunity they gave us, and the leap of faith they took creatively to produce this award-winning work. We savour finding the right communication solution for every business challenge presented us. It is extremely rewarding to see our core values of courage, collaboration and curiosity, produce such significant results. This in turn pushes us to set the bar higher in the service of our clients’ needs.”
JWT recently bought a majority stake in The Hardy Boys, adding fully integrated activation capabilities to the JWT Group in South Africa and beyond.
