Y&R China appoints Kien Hoe as Group Creative Director

— Charles Sampson, Y&R Greater China CEO and Nils Andersson, Y&R Greater China chief creative officer, today announced the appointment of Kien Hoe as Group Creative Director, Y&R Shanghai.
With more than 15 years of brand building experience in the industry, Kien started his career in 1997 at FCB and was awarded the Young Creative Award in the same year at the Kancil - Malaysia’s Top Advertising Award show.
Kien joined Saatchi & Saatchi in 2001. He won Malaysia's first Film Cannes lion - a bronze for Toyota - and Agency Of The Year twice. He moved to China in 2008 as Creative Director of Saatchi & Saatchi Shanghai, before joining joined Ogilvy Shanghai as lead creative on the Dove and Lee Jeans accounts.
Dove’s Real Beauty integrated digital campaign won Gold, Silver and Bronze in the 2011 China Effies, while the Lee Jeans interactive site/music video was featured on www.adverblog.com
Kien joins Y&R from TBWA\Shanghai, having recently won two Silver Awards for McDonald’s beef ‘Manly Man’ and Adidas Climacool campaigns at the 2012 China Effies. McDonald's beef 'Manly Man' campaign also won a Bronze in the China 4As award show and was voted 2012 Top 10 Best in China Integrated Campaign by Aqua. Kien also led the first Adidas Original integrated campaign for China.
His passion lies in building brands and firmly believes that good creative idea can help a good product become great.
