Lois Jacobs appointed new Chief Executive Officer of Landor Associates

SAN FRANCISCO — Landor Associates, one of the world’s leading strategic brand consulting and design firms, today announced that Lois Jacobs will join the firm as chief executive officer beginning November 1. Jacobs joins Landor from WPP-sister company FITCH, succeeding Mary Zalla, who has stepped down. Zalla will lead Landor’s newly created global consumer branding practice, in addition to her role as managing director for the Chicago and Cincinnati offices.

Lois Jacobs has led FITCH, a global retail and branding consultancy, since 2009. While there, she worked on a variety of assignments for brands and retailers. Clients included Dell, Target, Nokia, and Marks & Spencer. She also transformed the business into a powerful global and integrated network and opened new offices in Beijing, Delhi, and Moscow. Prior to joining FITCH, Jacobs was president international for Jack Morton Worldwide, the Interpublic owned experiential marketing agency. While there she created the firm’s public events practice, which was responsible for the production of two Olympic ceremonies, multiple New Year’s Eve events designed to brand major cities, and a range of other large consumer brand experiences around the world.

During her tenure as CEO, Mary Zalla focused on elevating Landor’s creative output, refreshing the strategic offer, growing a more sustainable client base, and securing the best talent. The firm has done well as a result, winning major new clients and experiencing sustained growth in markets that include Southeast Asia and Eastern Europe. Landor also won a Gold Lion at the 2013 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity for Nine Suns, work created by the San Francisco office.

Jacobs officially joins the firm on November 1, and will be in a co-CEO role with Zalla through the end of the year. A London resident, Jacobs will split her time between the U.K. and U.S.
