VML names Beth Wade CMO

Agency appoints its first CMO
KANSAS CITY, MO.
— VML, one of the world’s leading digital marketing agencies, today announced Beth Wade as its first chief marketing officer. Beth Wade was previously the agency’s chief client officer.
As chief marketing officer, Wade is responsible for overseeing VML marketing, business development, and global integration. This role comes amid rapid global expansion for VML, six new international locations in the last eighteen months, and overall growth the agency has experienced in recent years. She will continue to report to VML CEO and President Jon Cook.
“Beth’s exceptional leadership during her career at VML, combined with a deep understanding of the VML brand and culture, makes her a perfect fit for this role,” Cook said. “As VML continues to grow globally, Beth will focus on driving the VML brand forward worldwide.”

Wade’s new role as CMO is effective immediately. She has been with VML since 2002, and in 2007 became the head of client services, which she led for 5 years. Wade’s leadership was instrumental in key client partnerships such as Colgate-Palmolive, Hill’s, Tom’s and Kellogg’s to VML. She started her career working client-side for Sprint and Applebee’s before joining Wunderman in New York.
Chuck Searle has been promoted to Executive Director, Client Services and will assume Wade’s previous account management role. Searle was previously Managing Director, Client Services and has been with VML since 2000.
