Jack Bamberger joins MEC as President, Digital in North America

NEW YORK — MEC,, a leading media agency today announced the appointment of Jack Bamberger to President, Digital in North America. He will be based in New York and report directly to Marla Kaplowitz, Chief Executive Officer, North America. Jack will lead MEC’s digital business and be responsible for the agency’s offerings across display, social, search, mobile and emerging platforms.

Jack will also join MEC’s North American Executive Committee comprised of Marla Kaplowitz; Eamonn Store, President of Global Solutions; Dennis Donlin, President, Team AT&T; Mark Sanders, Chief Financial Officer; and Michelle Guglielmelli, Managing Partner, Human Resources and Talent Management.

With over 25 years of marketing experience, Jack is a results-oriented industry leader with special expertise in social, digital and traditional media.

Jack joins MEC from Dentsu America, where he was Chief Consumer Engagement Officer and set up their Digital and Social Media practice in the US. His role included co-leading Dentsu America’s agency/client relationship with The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company, focusing on elevating their digital strategy, digital creative, digital media investments, social media and search efforts.

Prior, Jack was Chief Client Officer at appssavvy, where he drove revenue by providing social activity solutions and social sponsorships, including the largest sale in company history (which earned the client a Guinness Book of World Records Award for the most Facebook fans driven within a 24-hour period). And before that, Jack was Executive VP of Katalyst, hired by co-founders Ashton Kutcher and Jason Goldberg to create and implement the company’s digital strategy. During this time, he successfully transitioned Katalyst from a branded-entertainment production operation to a strategic social content creator, programming and managing social media networks and campaigns for a variety of Fortune 500 brands. While at Katalyst, Fast Company named the organization one of the “10 Most Innovative Companies In Advertising/Marketing.” Jack also has rich experience on the publishing side, leading Meredith 360 as Chief Innovation Officer and working as a VP of Marketing within Time Warner Inc. Jack was also named one of the Mediaweek 50 in 2008.
