Cohn & Wolfe brings in Matt McGinnis to lead Austin office

AUSTIN — Cohn & Wolfe (, a leading global communications agency, today announced the appointment of Matt McGinnis as Executive Vice President, Managing Director of the company’s Austin office, where he will oversee the office’s day-to-day operations, client relations and business development activities. He will report directly to Jim Joseph, Cohn & Wolfe President, North America.

The Cohn & Wolfe Austin staff and client base are focused on digital strategy and fully integrated communications programming. As such, it is one of the key hubs and drivers of Cohn & Wolfe’s global digital practice.

Over the past 21 years, McGinnis has held marketing and communications positions overseeing product management, demand generation and corporate reputation in North America and Europe. He joins Cohn & Wolfe from Dell, where as Marketing Director for the Enterprise Solutions Group, he created campaigns that assisted customers in finding the right technology to help their businesses operate more efficiently. Previously, he was Senior Vice President, Global Technology Practice Leader at Waggener Edstrom Worldwide, where he oversaw large multinational corporate communications accounts for clients such as AMD, Austin City Limits, BMC Software, Capital Sports & Entertainment, Texas Instruments and Vignette. Matt’s experience includes enterprise technology, consumer electronics, Internet commerce, non-profit advocacy, performance marketing, semiconductors, software, sports and entertainment.

McGinnis has won multiple industry awards, such as a Texas Social Media Award in 2011 and a PRSA Bronze Anvil Award in 2005. He is an active member of Austin Food Blogger’s Marketing Committee and serves as both a Cub Scout Den Leader and Youth Soccer Coach in his community.
