Ogilvy Public Relations appoints Kevin Slagle as Senior Vice President

California Land Use Policy Expert Strengthens West Coast Corporate Practice

SACRAMENTO, CA — Ogilvy Public Relations (Ogilvy PR), an integrated global communications firm, announced today that Kevin Slagle joins the agency’s corporate communications practice as senior vice president. Based in Sacramento, Slagle will provide council to clients in the corporate, government and non-profit sectors.

With 17 years of public affairs and issues management experience, Slagle has led strategic efforts for clients across stakeholder and public education, corporate communications, grassroots outreach, community relations, earned media and crisis communications. He has a recognized expertise in land use policy, environmental advocacy and legislative affairs. Slagle has partnered with clients to overcome challenges in industries including mining, energy, land use and residential and commercial development.

Prior to joining Ogilvy PR, Slagle was a principal and partner with Capitol Public Affairs in Sacramento, where he specialized in public policy-related public affairs programs. He began his career at Porter Novelli and spent over 10 years at the firm, most recently as senior vice president. He previously served as the national chair of Porter Novelli’s land use practice group and has managed numerous successful entitlement and community relations efforts for commercial, residential and industrial projects. Slagle also held senior positions at Edelman and Teichert Aggregates and served as a partner for an advertising and TV production company.

In addition to his public affairs background, Slagle is an experienced focus group moderator and research specialist, having developed and analyzed many qualitative and quantitative research programs for clients. He has held leadership roles in team trainings as well as professional development and business development initiatives, social media integration and marketing programs.

Active in both professional and community organizations, Slagle has served local planning boards including the Sacramento Tree Foundation, Sacramento County Community Planning Advisory Council, Public Relations Society of America and several local youth sports groups. Slagle received a BA in Public Relations from Brigham Young University.
