Y&R São Paulo celebrates evolution in Cannes

The agency wins nine Lions, has its best performance at the festival and becomes the most awarded agency in the network worldwide

After winning four Lions in 2011, Y&R São Paulo finished the Cannes International Creativity Festival this year with nine Lions in four different categories: Media, Press, Outdoor and Radio. In addition, the agency was shortlisted for Direct and Promo & ctivation. These 9 Lions made Y&R São Paulo the most-awarded office of Y&R globally. The global agency itself had its best performance ever at Cannes, with 50 Lions won across 14 categories.

Y&R São Paulo was also positioned among the five Brazilian agencies that most won Lons at the event for the second time in a row. According to Marcos Quintela, Y&R resident, the creative turnaround reflects the efforts in recent years to reinforce the creative area by hiring new leadership and internationally acknowledged professionals. “We have been strategically focused on improving our work and our increasing international industry recognition is affirmation that our clients are getting top-flight creative solutions”, he adds.

“This was Y&R São Paulo's best year in Cannes ever. The awards confirm a series of factors: a talented team, the agency's investments in the creative area, quality clients, criteria and lots, lots of work. Simultaneously, we experience a constant challenge. We are evolving, but there still is a long way to go to get where we want to be”, says Rui Branquinho, Creative VP.
