GCI Health continues expansion of New York team

NEW YORK — GCI Health, a leading specialty healthcare public relations agency, today announced the addition of three senior-level hires in New York as part of the agency’s significant growth. All will report to Kristin Cahill, executive vice president and New York market leader.

Andrea Pellicciari brings 15 years of healthcare communications expertise to GCI Health across a wide range of therapeutic categories including vaccines, neurological diseases, infectious diseases and women’s health. In her role as senior vice president, Pellicciari will oversee various neurology, urology and advocacy accounts for the agency, and tap into her extensive experience supporting health care and pharmaceutical companies, such as Allergan, Shire, sanofi pasteur, Solvay, and Roche Molecular Systems. Her deep skill set encompasses planning and executing grassroots programs, product launches and integrated campaigns for a broad array of organizations ranging from Pfizer’s Animal Health Division to the American Lung Association. She also has experience with patient-focused campaigns featuring renowned celebrities.

With a focus on consumer awareness and public health, Mary Kate Watkins has worked in healthcare communications for the past 10 years and will join GCI Health as a vice president. Her experience in the consumer health and beauty fields extends over four years and includes various consumer and physician-facing campaigns. Watkins will draw on her significant aesthetics experience to contribute to GCI Health’s growing focus on this area. Watkins has also previously supported a wide variety of pharmaceutical, vaccine and biotech companies, including Allergan, sanofi pasteur, Amgen and Wyeth.

GCI Health’s media team continues to grow, diversify and benefit from significant relationships across the healthcare media spectrum. The most recent addition to the team is Jennifer Gordon, who will offer strategic and hands-on media support to the agency’s account teams as a senior media specialist. Gordon spent four years as a producer at CNN, two years as a line producer at WBAL-TV (NBC) in Baltimore, Md., and earned her Master’s in broadcast journalism.

During her past four years in health public relations, Gordon led media strategy and outreach on two award-winning public health awareness initiatives involving nine well-known celebrities. She also has experience in pharmaceuticals (Merck, sanofi-aventis, UCB), medical devices (Johnson & Johnson) and medical societies (American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery).
