Danny Phan named Managing Director at Burson-Marsteller Singapore

18 April, 2012

SINGAPORE — Burson-Marsteller, a leading public relations and communications consultancy, announced the appointment of Danny Phan as Managing Director to lead the firm’s Corporate and Brand Marketing Practices in Singapore. He will be responsible for the management of a large portfolio of clients within these spheres. He will also join Burson-Marsteller’s Global Energy Practice which is based in Beijing, China.

Phan joins the firm with over a decade of international public relations experience in Asia and the Americas, most recently leading the regional expansion of financial and corporate communications consultancy Bell Pottinger Asia, establishing its network and affiliates in key Asian markets. Before joining Bell Pottinger, Danny was the Regional Director of Ogilvy PR’s Global Sustainability Practice for Asia Pacific and prior to that, he was Head of Office for Ogilvy PR Vietnam where he was named Asia Pacific’s ‘Young PR Professional of the Year.’

“I am delighted that Danny is joining Burson-Marsteller Singapore to apply his depth of experience to the task of serving our expanding community of clients,” said Bob Pickard, President and CEO, Burson-Marsteller Asia-Pacific. “His proven experience providing organizations with senior-level communications counsel and his ability to deliver effective cross-border strategies will add another dimension to our offer in this key regional market. I am confident that Danny will help us cement our reputation as a premier communications consultancy.”

“Burson-Marsteller is one of the great brands in the industry and it’s an honor to join and lead its Corporate and Brand Marketing Practices,” said Phan. “As a Burson-Marsteller returnee, I look forward to being surrounded once again by the best and the brightest public relations talent. Burson-Marsteller’s strong culture and emphasis on intellectual rigor makes it the ideal place to grow in your career and do remarkable work on behalf of clients.”

Phan’s appointment is the one of several Burson-Marsteller Singapore has made in recent months. Aaron Yeo returned to Burson-Marsteller as a Manager in the Government Communications practice in January. Yeo was previously with the agency from 2005-2010 before going in-house with the Sentosa Development Corporation. Yvette Lim, formerly of CNBC Asia, also joined the Government Communications team in December 2011.
