Grey Group appoints Nicky Lim as Area Director for Malaysia and Thailand

— Grey Group, a leading global integrated communications agency, has promoted Nicky Lim, Chief Executive Officer of Grey Group Malaysia, as Area Director for Malaysia and Thailand. In this newly created role, Lim will continue to head Grey Group Malaysia‟s operations with added responsibility for Thailand. The appointment, which takes effect immediately, will see him spearheading Grey Group‟s growth strategy for Thailand. He will continue to report to Nirvik Singh, Chairman and CEO, Grey Group Asia Pacific.
Lim is a 20-year industry veteran, having held stints at McCann Worldgroup, Ogilvy & Mather and JWT in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Prior to joining Grey Group Malaysia in 2006, Nicky served as general manager at Momentum Experiential Branding, one of Indonesia‟s largest brand activation agencies for over five years. In 2007, he was promoted to CEO of Grey Group Malaysia. Under his stewardship, the agency witnessed rapid business growth and made great strides in its creative offering and thought leadership.
Last year, Grey Group Malaysia emerged as the "Best Performing Agency" at the 2011 EFFIE Awards, Malaysia, as well as the top creative agency nationwide according to The Pencil Rankings: it clinched the coveted Gold Pencil at the 2011 One Show Design; and a Merit and In-Book at D&AD 2011 for its Malaysian Nature Society campaign. On thought leadership, the agency launched, "The Silent Majority: Understanding semi-urban Malay Youths in Malaysia‟ a series of research studies to better understand the major demographics in the country.
