Dalton Warner Davis announce strategic partnership with Direct Impact

Dalton Warner Davis (DWD) is delighted to announce a strategic link-up with Direct Impact (DI), the grassroots public affairs, public relations and corporate reputation sister company of Burson-Marsteller. The move will bolster the service DWD provides via its in-house Stakeholder Engagement Team.

Jonathan Walton, the Partner responsible for DWD’s consultation practice, says the partnership with DI “will further strengthen the localised service that DWD currently provides to its expanding client base”. By combining planning and surveying expertise with the very best political knowledge and geographical coverage available in the UK, Mr. Walton believes: “DWD and Direct Impact are ideally positioned to help clients respond more effectively to emerging pre-application consultation requirements.”

The rationale for the link-up is clear. Mr Walton says: “impending changes to the planning system will require planners to become ever more immersed in pre-application consultation, something that DWD and Direct Impact are best placed to undertake, as more and more technical issues and design solutions are discussed at the local level”. We recognise many planners do not have the experience necessary to lead large or complex consultation exercises, whilst many Public Relations advisors lack the planning skills to be able to discuss detailed issues with the public. It’s for this reason that we have partnered with DI, to be able to identify potential planning and community issues at an early stage, allowing the team to implement a well-considered, bespoke strategy to overcome obstacles, as well as in-build local feedback, where appropriate, into project design, and most significantly gain all-important community buy-in”.
