Brooke Hovey, Brad McCormick and Katy Kelley in new roles

NEW YORK — Cohn & Wolfe (, a leading global communications agency, today announced three senior staffing appointments: the promotion of Brooke Hovey to the newly created role of Executive Vice President, Digital Practice – Americas and the hiring of Brad McCormick as EVP, Managing Director Austin & Senior Digital Strategist and Katy Kelley as Vice President, Global Marketing and Communications. These digital hybrids will be catalysts of transformation as the agency plans to outpace the market in strategic digital communications.

The appointments reflect the increased market demand for global and regional expertise among agencies that can lead digital and social media strategy across the marketing spectrum. With a proven track record of driving brand engagement, growth and success, Cohn & Wolfe’s Global Digital Practice has quickly become an industry leader. In the past 20 months, under the leadership of Chad Latz, President, Global Digital Practice, the agency has experienced significant momentum, delivering double-digit growth in the digital business.

“Our top strategic priority is to transform Cohn & Wolfe globally from a company with digital experts to a company where digital is embedded in every aspect of the organization,” says Donna Imperato, CEO. “These new roles bring us one step closer to accomplishing that transformation, with additional global investments in the works.”

“Unchecked enthusiasm for digital and social media has left companies with brand fragmentation and poorly measured ROI,” says Chad Latz, President, Global Digital Practice. “Cohn & Wolfe is investing ahead of the curve in ‘digital hybrids,’ leaders who will help clients define and build their brands, ensuring that digital strategy aligns with overall brand vision.”

As EVP, Digital Practice - Americas, Hovey will lead the business on a global stage representing North and Latin Americas for multi-regional opportunities. Based in Austin, Hovey will report to Chad Latz, President, Global Digital Practice. In her new role, Hovey will oversee recruitment and development of new digital talent, advance the agency’s digital and social media strategy and thought-leadership in the U.S. markets and lead a portfolio of top-tier clients. Hovey has produced award-winning programs for iconic brands such as ExxonMobil, Dell, MasterCard and Nike during her nine-year career at Cohn & Wolfe. She most recently led the Austin office as Managing Director while also serving as SVP in the Digital Practice.

McCormick’s appointment as EVP, Managing Director Austin reflects the value of digital leadership to the organization as well as its commitment to provide services that create influence and deliver integrated experiences. He will lead a team of 16 professionals and serve as the Senior Digital Strategist, overseeing the Austin office’s day-to-day operations, client relations and business development activities. The Cohn & Wolfe Austin branch features a staff and client base focused on digital and fully integrated communications strategy, a model to be followed by the rest of the organization. Bringing over 13 years of digital management experience, McCormick most recently served as EVP, Global Digital Director for Porter Novelli. Brad has worked with clients as diverse as BP, Kellogg, Perdue Chicken, P&G, Bayer, Johnson & Johnson, LEGO and the US Dept of Homeland Security. Before Porter Novelli, Brad was SVP, Digital Client Services for Ruder Finn. In 2008, he was named one of four “Top Digital Creative Minds” by PRWeek.

As Vice President, Global Marketing and Communications, Kelley will blend her years of corporate communications expertise and social media savvy to boost Cohn & Wolfe’s recognition as a digital force. Tasked with ensuring consistent messaging for the agency globally and collaborating with worldwide leadership to build smooth communication structures internally, Kelley will report to Jill Tannenbaum, Chief Marketing Officer. Most recently, Kelley was VP, Corporate Communications at Ruder Finn and previously Vice President of Carrot Creative, a social media agency in Brooklyn, and Communications Manager at digital agency HUGE.
