27 October, 2011

Kristin Sadlon and Russ Williams join the agency in new roles

NEW YORK — Cohn & Wolfe today announced two senior staffing appointments to its highly regarded Corporate Practice: Kristin Sadlon as SVP, Corporate Practice and Russ Williams as SVP, Crisis and Issues Management. Sadlon will be based out of the communication agency’s New York headquarters, while Williams will be based out of Atlanta.

Over the past year, Cohn & Wolfe’s Corporate Practice has significantly expanded its services in areas like corporate branding, employee communications and issues management to better serve sophisticated corporate clients with complex needs. With a heritage of working with leading corporations, Cohn & Wolfe brought Sadlon and Williams on board in recognition of the critical need for senior advisors to manage a variety of issues and initiatives.

“Kristin and Russ bring tremendous breadth and depth of experience to Cohn & Wolfe at a time when corporations need seasoned advisors to help them navigate uncertainty and volatility,” said Michael Bayer, head of the North American Corporate Practice. “Whether for issues management or corporate branding, our clients are increasingly relying on us for strategic advice that goes beyond traditional communications. It’s critical that our senior leaders have the experience, intellect and creativity to help clients across a wide variety of situations. Both Kristin and Russ embody these values, and I’m thrilled to welcome them to our team.”

Sadlon comes to Cohn & Wolfe after a nine year tenure at Porter Novelli, where she was SVP of Corporate Reputation. While there, Sadlon worked with clients such as Monster Worldwide, Invesco PowerShares Capital Management LLC, Reckitt Benckiser and Penske Logistics. Specializing in corporate and financial communications, Sadlon said about her new position, “It’s very exciting to join a corporate practice with such a great client roster, an entrepreneurial team spirit and a refreshing approach to tackling communications challenges.”

Williams has more than 17 years of public relations experience and joins Cohn & Wolfe after six years at Hayslett Group as SVP. He has built a career that spans strategic counsel, media relations, litigation support, public affairs and community relations to publicly-held, private sector and government clients. He has extensive in-house experience, having held roles such as being the National Spokesperson for Delta Air Lines to serving as director of media relations for AGL Resources.
