MediaCom Australia appointed to $70m Westpac account

MediaCom Australia has been appointed to The Westpac Group media account following a comprehensive review of its media services.

MediaCom, who beat OMD, Aegis and Universal McCann in the pitch process, will handle the strategy, planning and buying across the entire Westpac Group of companies including St George, Bank of Melbourne and Bank SA.

A spokesperson for Westpac added “The Westpac Group thanked outgoing agency OMD for its hard work and valuable contribution, and acknowledged its dedication to delivering communication outcomes through strong relationships and a passionate team.

The new agreement does not extend to online search, which is handled by each brand within the Westpac Group individually.

Transition arrangements will start on Monday 10 October, with the new three-year agreement with Mediacom officially commencing from 1 December 2011
