Barry Leung joins Always Shanghai as Managing Director

SHANGHAI — Barry Leung has been appointed Managing Director, Always (Shanghai) Marketing Services Co. Ltd., JWT China’s field marketing discipline.

Barry brings with him 25+ years of Above the Line and Below the Line experience in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Before joining Always, Barry was the Greater China Regional Director of Bates141 and previously, President of OgilvyAction in China.

Among Barry’s accomplishments is his brand building expertise behind the success of clients, Buick (SGM), Nokia and 555 in China.

"Barry brings a wealth of proven experience in retail strategy," said Tom Doctoroff, JWT Greater China CEO and Asia Area Director stated. "He is also a consummate advertising professional and his leadership will reinforce an already robust collaboration between JWT and Always to ensure big creative ideas find their way to the end of aisles in supermarkets throughout China."

Barry carries with him a strong belief that "The real Battles are in the Retails" and possesses a passion for retail activation. As Managing Director of Always, Barry will work closely with Cai Hua, CEO of Always to develop new expertise, new service offerings and new business for Always.

Speaking on the retail scene in China and his new role at Always, Barry said: "Nothing happens unless it happens at the retail. Retail in China is fast changing, fascinating and exciting. Always has been a part of JWT since 2006, and today is the largest field marketing network in China, with operations divided across various disciplines including: field force management, market intelligence, road show and event management, activation strategy consultation, and POSM management.
