Rooney appointed to NJ Sharing Network Foundation Board of Trustees

NEW JERSEY — Ogilvy CommonHealth Worldwide (www.ogilvychww.com), representing the largest assembly of creative talent in the world of healthcare communications, today announced that Peter Rooney, EVP, Director of Client Services at Ogilvy CommonHealth Medical Marketing, has been appointed to the 2011 NJ Sharing Network Foundation Board of Trustees.

NJ Sharing Network Foundation generates philanthropic support for the various programs of NJ Sharing Network. NJ Sharing Network is a non-profit, federally certified, state-approved organ procurement organization responsible for the recovery of organs and tissue for the 4,700 New Jersey residents currently awaiting transplantation, and is part of the national recovery system, which is in place for the over 110,000 people on waiting lists.

As a board of trustees member of the NJ Sharing Network Foundation, Mr. Rooney will leverage his healthcare marketing and strategic planning background as well as his patient-advocacy experience to further raise awareness and funds that support donor registration, education and research.

Mr. Rooney shared, “My journey with NJ Sharing Network began in 2005 when I became a volunteer after my father was diagnosed with kidney failure, began dialysis and was placed on the transplant waiting list. I am truly honored to have been appointed to the board. I look forward to assisting with the fundraising and special event activities, as well as promoting NJ Sharing Network’s work to continue to expand the organization’s presence, programs and advocacy.”
