GCI Health continues expansion of Atlanta office
2 March, 2011
— GCI Health, a healthcare public relations agency, today announced the appointment of Kelly Cusumano as Senior Vice President and Deputy Director of the Atlanta office. In the position, she will counsel and oversee brand and corporate communications for existing accounts, as well as help expand the company‟s strategic communications offerings to additional healthcare companies and non-profit organizations. She will report to Valerie Lind, Atlanta Market Leader.
“We are thrilled to continue to expand GCI Health as one of the largest healthcare public relations offerings in the Southeast region and attract best-in-the business veterans with diverse experience like Kelly,” said Wendy Lund, CEO, GCI Health. “Kelly’s expertise in the men’s health and autoimmune disease categories is a wonderful complement to the office’s proficiency in specialty pharmaceuticals, medical technology and advocacy relations.”
Prior to joining GCI Health, Kelly worked at HealthSTAR PR as a Vice President where her responsibilities included developing strategies for patient education and professional communications programs for clients such as Solvay Pharmaceuticals/Abbott Labs, Genentech and Shionogi Pharmaceuticals. Before HealthSTAR, Kelly served as a Vice President at Manning Selvage & Lee managing their Sanofi Aventis, Merial, Ltd. and BioSouth accounts.
“For healthcare companies, change is now the rule, not the exception,” said Cusumano. “I am excited to bring GCI Health‟s unique corporate communication and brand strategies to companies who are re-engineering themselves to meet the industry‟s emerging needs.”
In addition to Kelly‟s appointment, the Atlanta office added two more employees, Arniesha Hayes as Senior Account Executive and Kelsey Webster as Assistant Account Executive to provide day-to-day account support for a variety of branded program activities.
Arniesha‟s responsibilities also include development and implementation of client internal communications, corporate reputation and issues management activities. She brings a successful track record in implementing award-winning strategic social awareness initiatives and generating prominent local and national media coverage on behalf of clients. Before joining GCI Health, Arniesha served as a Media Relations Manager at Creaxion Corporation. She also worked at BLH Consulting, Inc. on multiple GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare community-focused campaigns where she wrote educational articles, managed event logistics and media relations outreach, and partnered with physicians for consumer events.
Kelsey‟s role at GCI Health also includes supporting client corporate equity and digital media initiatives. Most recently, she interned at Fleishman-Hillard, supporting account teams in their healthcare, pharmaceutical, medical device and social marketing campaigns.Contact
