Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide/London appoints Leo Ryan as Strategy Director, 360º Digital Influence
Leo joins Ogilvy PR/London’s award-winning social media practice, 360º Digital Influence, which offers clients an integrated approach to digital communications; helping them deliver strategic, creative and measureable programmes, to realise enterprise change within their business.
Ross Cathcart, Senior Director, Ogilvy PR/London said, “Leo Ryan is a formidable digital strategist and astute business partner whose expertise and reputation further elevates Ogilvy PR’s global status as an industry benchmark for digital public relations.”
A 15-year veteran in the digital space, Leo brings a wealth of experience on both client and agency side in Sydney, New York and London. His work setting the digital planning for the award-winning Sony BRAVIA Balls campaign in 2005 won him Best Launch Campaign and Best Consumer Goods Campaign at the M&M Awards in 2006.
In 2006 he co-founded RMM London, a digital communications consultancy notable for clients including Sony CE Europe, Discovery Channel EAME, Buckingham Palace, Baileys and Johnnie Walker. Prior to that, he held various director positions at Tonic Design, Lateral.net, and Haymarket Publishing as part of the motor sports division. A respected industry thought leader in the digital space, Online Marketing Show, Internet World, IMM09 Media Conference, Contagious Media and AdMap have engaged Leo as a speaker.
About his appointment, Leo Ryan said, "I think its true to say that generally the promise of social media is huge, but the opportunity to deliver it properly is elusive. One of the many reasons I am excited about the role at Ogilvy PR is the commitment that they and their clients have to social media as a business changing practice. Amongst all of the excitement and hyperbole surrounding digital, and especially right now social media, it is rare to find an agency that has this kind of deep knowledge and experience and a global practice to draw on. The opportunity to deliver this kind of work in concert with some of the more established disciplines that Ogilvy Group UK has traditionally always excelled, in makes this feel very much like the right place to be at the right time".
Leo’s appointment follows the transfer in September 2010, from Ogilvy PR/Shanghai of Michael Darragh to co-lead the agency’s Digital & Broadcast offering which is setting new standards in brand experiences for online influencers, and sophisticated community engagement in social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.ABOUT OGILVY PUBLIC RELATIONS WORLDWIDE
