Leading Global Communications Firm Announces New Name, Brand and Website

NEW YORK — Hill & Knowlton announced today a new name and brand: Hill+Knowlton Strategies. The name reflects a renewed emphasis on strategic communications advice that ensures a client's business imperatives are achieved — advice informed by research and insight, and built upon a rich heritage of public relations strength.

“The new brand points to a shifting market for our clients, one with an explosion of information and a revolution in the ability of almost everyone to find that information,” said Jack Martin, global chairman and chief executive officer of Hill+Knowlton Strategies. “This democratization of information is fundamentally changing the way they do business.”

The rebranding and new name take effect December 1, 2011. Hill+Knowlton Strategies traces its start to 1927 when John W. Hill opened his public relations office in Cleveland, Ohio. Today, the company has 85 offices in 46 countries around the globe and continues to serve clients as a premier public relations agency.

Martin, who became chairman and CEO on January 1, 2011, said Hill+Knowlton Strategies is investing heavily in developing its research and digital communications capabilities.

“Research — providing metrics, analytics and insights — is vital to helping our clients understand the public,” said Martin. “In the political and consumer worlds, participants are forced to study the public and adapt accordingly. If they don’t, they lose. Corporations, too, must keep up, as the public is always evolving as a participant in the marketplace.”

Martin added that the firm’s investment in digital is also essential, as today’s digital technologies will continue to speed up the evolution of public opinion.
