6 April, 2011

MEC,, a leading media agency, today named Janice Hong as Chief Commercial Officer, MEC Asia Pacific and David Primmer Head of Trading, Asia Pacific.

The announcement was made by Stephen Li, CEO for MEC Asia Pacific.

The appointments are effective immediately. Both will report to Stephen Li and have been named to MEC’s Asia Pacific Forum management team.

In these new roles, Janice will work closely with Stephen Li in all areas of MEC’s operational, financial and commercial output and she will control all areas of our financial and operational planning. Janice joins MEC from Ogilvy Action APAC, where she was regional finance partner from 2008. Prior, Janice spent 12 years with Bates and 141 in Singapore as their director of operations and regional finance controller. Janice will be based in Singapore.

David becomes part of MECs global trading team led by Keith Tiley. His responsibilities will include client trading delivery across all media, and managing MEC’s trading needs in new business; providing maximum commercial benefit to our clients through negotiation and implementation. David’s background is a mixture of Trading and client service and having spent over twenty years with MEC, he is the perfect fit for this role. David will be based in Hong Kong, a key centre for many pan-regional media owners.

Stephen Li, CEO APAC, said, “Asia Pacific is MEC’s fastest growing region and its performance will have a major impact on MEC globally moving forward. Our company’s future success will partly very much depend on our continued operational, commercial and trading excellence.

It is vital therefore that we have the right people in our organisation to move both MEC and our clients forward in these areas, creating centres of excellence around our network. In Janice and David we are extremely fortunate to have two people with such strong skills and reputation working for us at MEC. I’m delighted that they have accepted the challenge to take MEC Asia Pacific to even greater heights.”
