P&G defines London 2012 team and awards Olympics activation brief

P&G has begun its journey towards the London 2012 Olympic Games by defining its communications team and awarding its Olympics activation programme in the UK to Hill & Knowlton UK.

P&G and the International Olympic Committee announced a global partnership on 28 July 2010 that includes marketing rights for more than 50 brands across 38 consumer product categories; the number of consumer product categories included in the partnership is unprecedented in Olympic Games history.

P&G is looking to build on the success of its Team USA partnership at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games which resulted in improved favourability, greater market share and nearly $100 million in incremental sales. P&G's portfolio of brands will sponsor athletes and national teams in the build up to London 2012.

H&K will advise P&G on its corporate communications, provide sports marketing counsel, manage its social engagement campaign and work with the current roster of P&G agencies in creating and coordinating consumer brand activation plans with P&G's top brands.
