11 October, 2010

LONDON, NEW YORK — Cohn & Wolfe today announced that Scott Wilson has joined as CEO of the agency’s London office, effective immediately. In the role, Wilson is responsible for all operations and will provide strategic client counsel, manage large teams, lead new business and ensure integration across the EMEA region.

Wilson joins from Weber Shandwick where he had been Managing Director of Consumer Marketing EMEA. The London office is Cohn & Wolfe’s second largest in the agency’s global network. Its client roster includes world-renowned brands such as Barclays, Heinz, Lloyds Banking Group, Novartis, Colgate-Palmolive and Universal Studios among others. Wilson reports to Donna Imperato, global CEO of Cohn & Wolfe.

“London is a critical hub for our network and has long been a source of some of our finest client work,” said Imperato. “After many months of searching for a market leader and meeting multiple candidates, I am thrilled to have one of the best leading our clients and our people. Scott’s energy and passion and his deep expertise will be appreciated by teams in the UK and across our entire global network.”

“I’m excited to join an agency that, while large enough to compete globally, fosters a culture of innovation, creativity and branding expertise that the times demand,” said Wilson. “I chose to join Cohn & Wolfe because it is an agency with an ambition and an attitude that I share. My aim is to build a business that is truly special, and see Cohn & Wolfe recognized in the UK and Europe as a powerhouse force in the changing communications landscape.”

Wilson held numerous positions for Weber Shandwick in the UK and across EMEA during his eight years with the agency including Managing Director for the UK Consumer Marketing practice, Head of Consumer Healthcare, Head of Media and UK Public Sector Head. He also led numerous client programmes, developing a passion for integrated marketing campaigns. During his four-year tenure as UK Consumer Marketing MD, his client teams received more than 30 industry awards. Prior to joining Weber, Wilson was Head of Media at Porter Novelli. He began his professional career as a journalist.
