Kinetic India appoints Kulshreshtha as Managing Director

INDIA — Kinetic India, the WPP-owned lifestyle and environments network and Out of Home media agency, has announced the appointment of Rajul Kulshreshtha as Managing Director.

Kulshreshtha has worked within WPP’s GroupM for the past six years, initially heading up its LG business before going on to head Motivator, the GroupM media agency, for four years. This year, under Kulshreshtha’s leadership, Motivator won its first EMVIES award, the Bombay Ad Club's annual awards for effectiveness in marketing.

At GroupM he was responsible for centralizing all backend operations across its numerous operating companies, managing more than 800,000 transactions a month and billing more than US$1bn a year.

Prior to joining GroupM Kulshreshtha was Vice President of Sales for CNBC in Singapore. He has vast media agency experience, having previously worked for Zenith Optimedia in Indonesia and Universal McCann in India.

In his new role he will be tasked with fully integrating Kinetic’s offering into new and existing clients and agencies across the exciting Indian market. He will lead a team of 80 people across India.

Kulshreshtha said: “India is at the threshold of a tipping point in OOH advertising and I feel I am taking up this post at the right moment. These are exciting times and they come with no small number of challenges and responsibilities.”

Motivator meanwhile will be led by Sundeep Sharma, Country Head, who will report into Ajit Varghese, MD Maxus.
