KnowledgeBase Marketing expands footprint in Europe
25 May, 2010
— KnowledgeBase Marketing, a Wunderman company, has deepened its footprint in Europe by opening dedicated offices in Paris and London offering integrated data-driven marketing solutions. These new offices join locations in Frankfurt, Helsinki and Prague, which already serve the data-related needs of clients such as Microsoft and Nokia. Adding offices in key cities like Paris and London is a logical next step to solidify the firm’s commitment to its global clients across Europe. KnowledgeBase Marketing has evolved from its roots as a traditional marketing service provider and today functions as a global data management operation. It is now the largest data management firm owned by a marketing services holding company.
“Our clients tell us where they need us, and that’s where we go,” said Gary Laben, KnowledgeBase Marketing CEO. “We now have 13 offices across the globe. Paris and London are the newest – and we will open more as our clients’ needs evolve.”
Philippe Bonnet, CEO of Wunderman France, and Andy Rutberg, KnowledgeBase Marketing’s president of global services, will oversee operations, along with Andrew Hamlett serving as the commercial director of the Paris office. Howard Geisler will serve as managing director in London. Hamlett and Geisler are charged with managing – and expanding – the company’s business in Europe as it continues to broaden its global capabilities. Geisler reports to Andrew Rutberg, KnowledgeBase Marketing’s president of global services.
Hamlett previously worked as an international direct marketing and business development consultant across Europe and Asia serving such clients as Time Warner Publishing, Unilever and SNCF Railways. Prior to that, he was European market development manager for Claritas Europe (Acxiom).
Before joining KnowledgeBase Marketing, Howard Geisler was with Publicis Groupe where he was worldwide managing director of interactive at Saatchi & Saatchi and then president of Digitas U.K. Geisler has extensive experience in interactive marketing. He began his career at Wunderman by launching an e-solutions practice in Toronto, Canada that encompassed interactive and data capabilities. His career took him to Mexico where he helped launch Wunderman’s local interactive practice. He later became chief digital officer of Wunderman’s German unit charged with growing major accounts in interactive and data services.
“Data is the fuel that drives all marketing and KBM has fast become a global player and the data engine for Wunderman,” said Daniel Morel, Wunderman’s chairman and CEO. “In 2008, KBM served only North America. Today, it has employees located in Europe, South America, Africa and Asia. I predict that 50% of their employees will be based outside North America by 2012.”Contact
