Clarion Communications appointed to handle PR for Bernard Matthews Farms

25 March, 2010

The campaign comprises several elements with the aim of driving generic consumption of turkey, together with awareness of the Bernard Matthews brand. This includes a targeted ambassador programme, news generation, trial and stunts, all underpinned with a hard working press office. The campaign will also involve celebrity chef Marco Pierre White, who will be helping to promote the Turkey Versatility message.

Shelley Wyatt, board director at Clarion, said: "Bernard Matthews is a great British brand with a strong heritage. Our campaign will help bring back the love to this iconic brand. It will also do a bigger job to drive generic awareness and sales of turkey all year round, with celebrity chef Marco Pierre White championing turkey as a great tasting and versatile meat to ultimately move turkey further up the UK’s culinary agenda.

“We’re confident that our PR programme will not only excite and engage consumers and media, but also result in fantastic coverage and generate incremental business for Bernard Matthews."

Matthew Pullen, Marketing Director at Bernard Matthews, added: "Clarion developed a solid and detailed strategy in response to our brief which was well researched amongst Bernard Matthews target audiences. The team have a high level of energy and enthusiasm, with a professional approach to developing our brand and business and we're delighted to have them on board."
