Cohn & Wolfe takes home two PRWeek Awards

NEW YORK — Cohn & Wolfe, a leading global communications agency, won two awards last night at the 2010 PRWeek Awards ceremony held in New York City. Cohn & Wolfe collected trophies in the “Technology Campaign of the Year” and “Community Relations Campaign of the Year” categories for the SanDisk Extreme Pro Launch and for RadioShack’s digital television transition, respectively.

Technology Campaign of the Year – Cohn & Wolfe and SanDisk: SanDisk Extreme Pro Launch and Campaign
The launch of SanDisk Extreme Pro, a professional-grade flash memory card for owners of high-end DSLR cameras, was designed to emphasize that SanDisk is the professional’s “card of choice.” With that goal in mind, Cohn & Wolfe created the SanDisk Extreme Team, an international group of celebrated photographers who helped create product launch messaging and materials – including SanDisk TV videos and profile stories. The campaign included Extreme Pro-branded properties on Facebook, Flickr, MySpace and Twitter, and the team engaged other photo evangelist Web sites and blogs leading up to and following the launch. The campaign was executed in 25 countries.

Community Relations Campaign of the Year – Cohn & Wolfe and RadioShack: Educating Consumers through the Digital Television Transition
On June 12, 2009, television changed forever when American broadcasting officially transitioned from analog to digital – the biggest change since the introduction of color TV. Despite years of preparation by the industry, an estimated 70 million people who owned analog television sets were at risk of losing their signals because they were uninformed or had not taken the necessary steps. RadioShack partnered with Cohn & Wolfe to conduct a national consumer awareness and education campaign leading up to the transition which would extend RadioShack’s reputation as a trusted neighborhood electronics advisor and generate sales of converter boxes and related DTV accessories at RadioShack.

The PRWeek Awards are one of the communications industry’s most selective and prestigious awards programs. Judges are comprised of top professionals from agency, corporate, nonprofit, education, and government ranks.
