Dr. Jennifer Scott to lead Ogilvy PR's Global Strategy and Planning Group

NEW YORK — Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide (Ogilvy PR), an integrated global communications firm, announced today that Dr. Jennifer Scott, Managing Director of Ogilvy PR’s Insights and Research, has been promoted to Global Managing Director of Ogilvy PR’s Strategy + Planning Group, succeeding Steve Dahllof. Dahllof was named Regional CEO of Ogilvy PR Asia Pacific effective January 2010.

In her new role, Dr. Scott will have overall responsibility for the firm’s Strategy + Planning Group, a cross-disciplinary team of the agency’s most senior practitioners who consult with clients and Ogilvy PR account teams to elevate strategic excellence, creativity and campaign effectiveness. The group spans Ogilvy PR’s global network, providing clients with access to the best of the agency’s thought leadership, intellectual property and organizational resources.

Since joining Ogilvy PR in 2006, Dr. Scott has worked across a spectrum of industries and geographies providing counsel to clients on using research to inform reputation management and crisis response, strengthen new and established brands, advocate for public policy initiatives, inspire behavior change and measure the effectiveness of campaigns. Her specialist understanding of target audiences and social and political trends has brought strategic edge to campaigns, while her expertise in measurement has ensured that communications programs align with clients’ organizational goals.

Dr. Scott has also developed research and evaluation programs in support of public health and safety campaigns for many of Ogilvy PR’s Social Marketing clients, including the National Institutes of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. She was one of the architects of the agency’s successful Influencer Mapping Tool designed to identify and prioritize third party influencers and inform targeted and measurable engagement strategies. Dr. Scott also regularly teaches graduate classes on PR Effectiveness and Measurement at both Columbia and New York Universities.

Prior to joining Ogilvy PR, Dr. Scott was President of StrategyOne, a specialist research company. She has also served as Managing Director of Applied Research & Consulting, Senior Vice President at Shepardson Stern + Kaminsky, and Vice President at Bozell/ Sawyer Miller Group.

Dr. Scott received a bachelor’s degree in politics and psychology from the University of KwaZulu/ Natal in South Africa and her doctorate in politics from Oxford University, England. She will continue to be based in Ogilvy PR’s New York headquarters.
