Blast Radius Academy’s campaign for Nike Jordan wins 5th FWA Site of the Day
22 February, 2010
Nike Jordan's "Nightmares Never Sleep" campaign launched this month, with a website produced by Blast Radius' creative studio, Academy. The site's edgy design and videos won Blast Radius' studio its 5th FWA Site of the Day award in the past 6 months. Having built its set of creative services over the past year, Academy is well-equipped to help brands tell their stories in bolder, more engaging ways.
Founded on the premise that compelling content is at the heart of brand-building in the 21st century, Academy exists to generate new ideas and produce ground-breaking creative.
"We really believe that campaigns that embrace storytelling are the best way to engage people," says Michael Smit, Academy's Managing Director. "That could mean any of a number of things; a live action video series, a new way to present or image product, or an addictive online game, to name a few."
The brainchild of three former Blast veterans who now take the helm (Smit, as well as Marcus Eriksson as Creative Director, and Michael Ciebin as Executive Producer), Academy is a division of Blast Radius with a full contingent of creative talent including world-class designers, interface developers, and writers.
"We designed Academy to combine the best of creative agency thought with world-class design and production. Whether it's motion graphics, 3D, touchscreen, animation, or other disciplines, we're always trying new things," explains Smit. "Our clients are brands with a strong sense of who they are and where they want to go. They want to take their branding to the next level. They want to break from tradition."
The proof is in the pudding. Thanks to Academy, Blast Radius was awarded a bronze medal in the London International Advertising Awards' Digital Online Games Category for Leroy Smith's 2-on-2 Hall of Fame Challenge Basketball Game, as well as the 5 FWA Site of the Day awards.
