30 August, 2010
— Ogilvy&Mather Ukraine was named CEE Agency of the Year at the inaugural WPP Piran Idea Festival in August 2010.
The WPP Piran Idea Festival celebrated for the first time the best of creative communications from WPP agencies in a region whose importance is growing annually.
The jury, headed by WPP’s Worldwide Creative Director John O’Keeffe, included Y&R’s Adrian Holmes, JWT’s Miguel Bemfica, Ogilvy’s Paul Smith and Grey’s Martin Steinhausen.
Ogilvy&Mather Central&Eastern Europe clearly dominated the festival. Ogilvy&Mather Ukraine was the leader in creative excellence, winning 3 Gold and 2 Bronze awards in competition, then being declared WPP Agency of the Year in CEE. Ogilvy’s other CEE agencies swept up many of the remaining awards: Ogilvy Russia won a Gold and a Silver, with more Silvers going to Ogilvy Hungary (3 Silvers), Ogilvy Romania (2), Ogilvy Latvia (1) and Ogilvy Estonia (1); Ogilvy’s Slovakian and Polish agencies took two Bronzes and one Bronze respectively.
Robin Weeks, Ogilvy Creative Director, CEE, observes, “I am delighted by these results, not only for Ukraine but also for the other Ogilvy&Mather agencies in CEE. Such a wide range of awards from such a prestigious jury serves as proof of Ogilvy’s ongoing commitment to delivering innovative and effective communication solutions, tailor‐made to fit each client’s specific needs.”
For the last 10 years, Piran has brought together the region’s best creative minds for its annual Idea Campus creative conference. Beginning this year, WPP has expanded the conference into a full‐scale festival.
