The Partners win first ever Metro Wrap competition

LONDON — The Partners, the leading UK branding consultancy, has fought off stiff competition to win the first ever Metro Wrap competition.

Launched in February this year, Metro and D&AD challenged design agencies to let their creativity go wild and design a cover wrap to inspire and motivate readers on their morning commute.

The Partners winning entry captures the special moment between two commuters when they pass on a copy of Metro. This is usually accompanied with a smile or a fleeting glance. It is this warm interaction which is celebrated by The Partners’ idea.

The design, with flowers on the front and back of the cover means that when the paper is rolled up, it resembles a bunch of flowers which can then be passed on to another traveller to “make someone’s day.” Commuters will have a chance to do this on Tuesday 6th May, when the Metro will run the winning entry.

The brief we were given to “brighten someone’s day” gave us free reign to be really creative and turn an everyday action into something much more. There were some really innovative designs but we hope that our idea brings commuters a little closer. We love the idea of that moment sparking a new romance etc.”
