JWT INSIDE wins both intranet awards in the 22nd annual MERCURY Awards

New York, NY – JWT INSIDE, one of the worlds’ leading employment advertising and internal communications companies, took home both awards for excellence in intranet sites at the 22nd annual MERCURY Awards, the international competition honoring outstanding achievement in professional communications.

Continuing to raise the bar in brand activation within the internal communications arena, JWT INSIDE captured a Silver award for the JetBlue BlueTube intranet and a Bronze for Catholic Healthcare West’s (CHW) Personalized URL (PURL) Site.

JWT INSIDE created BlueTube, a user-generated intranet forum for JetBlue crewmembers (employees), in order for them to understand and embrace the new consumer campaign, “Happy Jetting,” before the idea went public. The site allows crewmembers to share their perspectives and stories about “happy jetting” and “jettitude,” giving JetBlue the ammunition to embody and extend the spirit of the new campaign to customers.

JWT INSIDE also developed the CHW PURL site as a unique way to engage CHW employees in the rollout of their employer brand, and new Employee Value Proposition (EVP) – Personal Connection. All employees got personalized Web sites, with their names built right into the URL. The personalized sites give them the opportunity to learn about the brand campaign and their role in bringing it to life, as well as upload videos, voice recordings, photo essays and written essays on how they live their life on purpose.

Judging for the International MERCURY 2008/09 Awards represented the most illustrious, creative professionals in the public relations industry. Over forty distinguished public relations, marketing, and advertising agencies, as well as corporate communications departments and public affairs offices participated in the judging. Some of the elements considered in the judging process were: how effectively the material met the stated objectives; how well the material was communicated to the designated audience; use of imaginative and original solutions; and the overall expression of the message. This year the MERCURY Awards accepted over 980 entries from 21 countries.
