Kinetic appoints Simon Crisp to the position of CEO, EMEA

Kinetic today announces the appointment of Simon Crisp to the position of Chief Executive, EMEA.
Crisp will be tasked with developing Kinetic’s strong existing EMEA network and continuing to promote the company’s single unified strategy across the region. Kinetic currently manages around €2 billion of Out of Home media billings across 14 EMEA offices
His responsibilities will include ensuring the delivery of a consistent, quality service in each country, developing the Kinetic brand and the company’s influence in each market. He will also work to promote the possibilities of the Out of Home medium throughout the EMEA region, calling on Kinetic’s range of services, tools and expertise.
Commenting on the appointment, Steve Ridley, Kinetic Global Chief Operating Officer, said: “I am delighted that Simon is joining the Kinetic team. His background is a rare mix of entrepreneurial and media agency experience. This combination will give Kinetic a distinct advantage as we expand the depth of service we offer across the EMEA region to ensure that our clients continue to receive the best Out of Home planning and opportunities available.”
Simon’s career spans nearly 25 years in marketing, media and technology. He spent a large part of his early career at Ogilvy & Mather (London), where as a member of the media management team he was responsible for broadcast media strategy and implementation on behalf of clients such as Guinness, Wilkinson Sword and IBM.
Simon moved to MTV Europe as Client Services Director before becoming a founding partner of Sportforyou.com, an Internet start-up company providing online loyalty schemes for sports organisations.
In October 2000 he became the first Chief Marketing Officer for Intrade plc, helping to establish it as one of the world’s leading sports trading and predictive market exchanges, and in 2003 Simon co-founded Adwalker plc, leading the company to a successful flotation on the London Stock Exchange in 2005.
