OgilvyOne China beefs up creative practice

Shanghai, China – OgilvyOne China has strengthened its creative leadership in China with the promotion of Johan Vakidis to National Creative Director, Digital, where he will help to elevate OgilvyOne’s digital services and drive new business initiatives throughout China. OgilvyOne has also appointed Laifong Siew to Creative Director in Shanghai. These hires prepare OgilvyOne China for future growth and help strengthen the senior digital leadership, reflecting increased client demand for high-level, strategic digital services.

Johan Vakidis is a unique executive whose skills and interests have seen him assemble and lead a team of top local, regional, and international talent for OgilvyOne. Since joining OgilvyOne in 2001, Vakidis and his team have consistently produced impressive and award-winning integrated and digital work for adidas, Semir, Ping An, and China Merchants Bank, among others.

In his new role, Vakidis will work on select 360 briefs with Nils Andersson, Ogilvy China's Group ECD, and will also partner with Tom Wan, VP of OgilvyOne China, in driving initiatives for the Digital Innovation Lab.

Laifong Siew re-joins OgilvyOne bringing with her over twenty years of experience in digital marketing. As Art Director and Head of Art at OgilvyOne in Singapore and Hong Kong respectively, Laifong has worked with Ford, Disney, Amex, IBM, and the Economist, among others. She has won numerous awards, including a Hong Kong 4A medal, for both offline and online work and has shown strong management and creative leadership capabilities. Laifong will assume the day-to-day management of the Shanghai creative team and work closely with Johan Vakidis to raise OgilvyOne China’s digital practice.

Vakidis and Siew’s appointments are effective immediately.
