Calgary International Film Festival appoints Tracy Mackett to board of directors

16 April, 2008

Calgary, Alberta – The board of directors of the Calgary International Film Festival (CIFF), a charitable, not-for-profit cultural organization, today welcomed Tracy Mackett, an account director with Hill & Knowlton Canada, to its board of directors.
“We are pleased to introduce Tracy as one of the new members of our board,” said Jacqueline Dupuis, executive director, CIFF. “As CIFF continues to become an integral part of Calgary’s arts and culture scene, the depth of marketing and communications expertise Tracy brings is incredibly valuable.”

Tracy brings seven years experience in marketing communications and public relations, with specific expertise in negotiating sponsorships and event management. She currently provides strategic counsel to Hill & Knowlton clients including American Express, Calgary Olympic Development Association, YMCA Calgary and Safe Haven.

Founded in 1998 and holding its first festival in 1999, CIFF has grown over the past nine years to become the third largest cultural event in Calgary. CIFF has enjoyed attendance by directors such as Atom Egoyan and Deepa Mehta and achieved credibility as an important cinematic event. CIFF was chosen to host the western North American Premiere of the critically acclaimed Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford in 2007.

“I am privileged to be joining CIFF’s board of directors,” said Tracy Mackett, account director at Hill & Knowlton. “CIFF is rapidly gaining world-class recognition, and I’m honoured to have the opportunity to offer my experience as the Festival grows and expands.”
