Brand equity ad agency Reckoner reveals O&M India No. 1, 5th time in 5 years

Ogilvy & Mather India has emerged India’s Premier Ad Agency in the Brand Equity Ad Agency Reckoner, 2007 for the 5 th consecutive year in the five years of the reckoner.

The annual ranking on the nation’s most admired ad agencies, media agencies, influential people and creative directors, has ranked O&M India as the No 1 Most Admired Creative Agency.

Introduced in 2003, the ‘Brand Equity Ad Agency Reckoner’ is an initiative by The Economic Times, India’s leading business and financial daily. The Economic Times has always been and continues to be India’s most respectable, reliable, robust and progressive financial daily. By the fact that the origin of this initiative is set in The Times Group, makes the ranking the most prestigious, credible and coveted title for Ad agencies in India.

Each year the Brand Equity Ad Agency Reckoner is tweaked to make it more representative of the prevailing advertising environment, as well as industry perceptions. This year, apart from a larger sample size of 481 respondents, there was a greater focus on respondents from marketing companies (58%; other constituents of this survey included ad agencies, media agencies and media houses. The study was conducted from late July to September 2007 across Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Pune.

Other enhancements include the increase in the number of criteria for the evaluation of ad agencies. This year’s survey was based on eight instead of seven criteria with a greater weightage given to 360-Degree Capabilities.

Additionally, Piyush Pandey, Executive Chairman & National Creative Director, O&M India, was once again ranked No. 1 in the 20 Most Influential People in Advertising; Pratap Bose, CEO, O&M India, was ranked 13 th in the same category.

Piyush once again ranked No. 1 in the Top 20 Creative Directors, followed by O&M’s Abhijit Avasthi, Executive Creative Director (ECD), at No 6, followed by Rajiv Rao (ECD) at No 8, Sumanto Chattopadhyay (ECD) at No 10 and Malvika Mehra, Creative Director, at No 13.

O&M’s overall score is 100 points in the survey rankings taking it to the No. 1 position in the rankings of the top 25 Ad Agencies.

The Brand Equity Ad Agency Reckoner 2007 was unveiled to an august gathering of the Who’s Who from the ad and media agencies and production houses in India. This exclusive event was hosted by The Times Group at The Rooftop, Taj Mahal Hotel, Colaba, Mumbai on Tuesday, November 13, 2007. It was an evening of immense joy and deep pride for O&M India.
